• Range of up to 353 miles on a single charge (WLTP). This includes an extra 22 miles due to the refreshed design.
• Charging speeds are the same as the standard model, with fast Supercharging and home charging options.
• Same battery size as the current long-range model.
• Faster acceleration thanks to Acceleration Boost (you can switch it off!)
• Same advanced safety features, including 5-star crash ratings
• Frunk with drainage plug – ideal for storing dirty sports gear or sandy beach equipment, and easy to clean after use

Current Tesla Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive (£51,990):

• Standard colour options
• No tow bar or Acceleration Boost
• Smaller wheels (but still great performance)

• The same software and features as the refreshed model
• Range of up to 331 miles on a single charge (WLTP)
• Charging speeds are the same, with Supercharging and home charging available
• Same battery size as the refreshed model Y.
• 5-star safety ratings and advanced driver assistance systems

Both models offer excellent range, comfort, and Tesla’s renowned performance. While the new refresh Model Y brings more luxury features, if you’re looking to save a bit, the standard Long Range version might be the better choice, especially with the £500 referral discount. Regardless of which model you choose, both will give you the same seamless Tesla experience thanks to their shared software and tech. The refreshed Model Y offers an extra 22 miles due to its design improvements, but both vehicles have identical battery sizes and charging speeds. They’re both eco-friendly, offer great performance, and have industry-leading safety ratings. Plus, the frunk drainage plug makes it the perfect space for storing and cleaning dirty sportswear or beach gear, adding to its practicality as a family EV. Well, that’s what I would use it for as a busy mum of 3!

Exceptional Long-Distance Driving: From Cardiff to Berlin

One of the most impressive aspects of the Tesla Model Y is its remarkable range, which makes long-distance travel in an electric vehicle feel effortless. In October 2024, I took my first long-distance journey abroad, driving from Cardiff to Berlin and back. As a first-time driver outside the UK, I was amazed at how simple the entire trip was.
